Well yesterday, the 13th September saw the pups at 5 weeks old and a nice 80 mile round trip to have their BAER hearing tests carried out. Not a nice trip as we had to get their early in order to feed them all before our appointment, this was to make them a little docile for the tests. It went better than expected and out of the 12 pups we only had two with failed hearing in one ear, the rest were fine. After discussing this with Kate, the vet at Seadown, she said the two which had uni-lateral hearing would be fine and live a normal life. All they would do is tilt their head to the noise. In effect dogs have far superior hearing than us, so they hear more than us even with one ear! We did take pictures of the event and will post these up in due course, poor little mites having tiny needles inserted and headphones on, very technical stuff! I must say the staff at Seadown were brilliant and thorough, I have just been informed we have received the certificates in the post this morning, what service!

It also looks likely that we have found a new home for the last remaining puppy, named 'Goldie' for our identification purposes, it'll be sad saying goodbye to these when the time comes. It'll be nice to keep in touch with all the new owners and see how they are getting on in their new homes.
